Work is about to start on improvements to the Beadon Creek Maritime Facility at Onslow, making vehicle and truck movements safer.
The facility manager, the WA Department of Transport, awarded a $595,000 contract to Onslow-based company NTC Contracting for the construction of a new turning circle, fuel access road and completion of a drainage upgrade at the busy facility.
The project completes a $2.5 million upgrade focused on the southern part of the facility implemented during the past four years which has seen resealing works (2013), the construction of a Department of Transport harbour office and implementation of CCTV (2015) followed by the relocation of overhead power to underground (2016).
Construction is expected to commence on site from July 2017 with project completion scheduled by September 2017, creating employment for 10 workers over the construction period.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to facility users and the public during the works program.
