Man sought following indecent act

Police are seeking public assistance as they investigate reports a man exposed himself and performed an indecent act in front of a teenage girl in the Lake Macquarie area.

About 8.45am (Thursday 10 August 2017), a 16-year-old girl was walking through bushland between Peach Avenue and Fifth Street, Cardiff, when she noticed the man.

She told police he was exposing himself and acting indecently.

The girl immediately left the area and reported the incident to her teachers at school.

Police were contacted and have conducted extensive patrols in the area.

They are looking for a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 40s with a medium build and brown hair. He was wearing an orange long-sleeve high-visibility shirt and dark blue pants.

Police are urging anyone with information about the man to come forward.
