Locals can tour Bendigo’s new stadium before it’s finished thanks to a virtual reality walk-through.
Victorian Minister for Sport John Eren joined Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan and Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today to unveil a new 3D virtual reality tour of Bendigo Stadium.
By putting on a pair of 3D goggles, visitors can see what the stadium will look like once complete, enjoying a courtside seat at a basketball game or front and centre at a rock concert – all hosted in this great new venue.
When Bendigo Stadium opens its doors in 2018, it will feature three new sports courts, 12 outdoor netball courts, 4,000 seats and improved facilities and access for fans and players.
Importantly, it will give local basketball, netball and volleyball clubs room to grow and the opportunity to train and play at a top-class venue.
The Victorian Government is delivering on its election commitment to build the new Bendigo Stadium, thanks to a $5 million Community Sport Infrastructure Fund grant.
This is just one of many projects the Victorian Government is getting on with to upgrade sport and recreation facilities across Victoria.
Touring Bendigo, Mr Eren also inspected construction at Bendigo Tennis Centre and the Bendigo Regional Aquatic and Wellness Centre.
Works at the Bendigo Tennis Centre are progressing well, with stage 1 of the project due for completion later in October 2017.
The new Bendigo Regional Aquatic and Wellness Centre will also ensure all central Victorians have access to the modern sports facilities they deserve.
