Police are investigating after a man was hospitalised following a stabbing in Newcastle.
About 9pm (Thursday 19 October 2017), emergency services attended the corner of Hunter and Bolton Street, Newcastle, and found a man with a stab wound to his abdomen.
Police have been told two men got into an altercation during which the man was stabbed.
The 33-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and will undergo forensic examination.
Officers attached to Newcastle Local Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident.
