Teachers encouraged to apply for Premier’s Anzac prize

Teachers have an opportunity to support students embarking on an overseas study tour to learn more about Australians who have served their country.

Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino and Victorian Minister for Veterans John Eren encouraged teachers to apply to lead Victorian students who will take part in the Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize in 2018.

Year nine and 10 students will travel both at home and abroad to visit sites where Australians have served during times of war and peacekeeping.

22 students will visit places of national significance overseas during the term one school holidays in 2018, while a further 20 regional finalists will visit Canberra and attend the Premier’s Anzac Day Luncheon.

Three teachers are needed to accompany students for the overseas tour and two are needed for the Canberra tour.

Teachers from government, Catholic and independent schools are eligible to apply by 20 October 2017.
