Building the Territory’s event portfolio

Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss, announced the launch of the second round of FestivalsNT’s event funding applications for the 2017-2018 financial year.

Seven events secured funding support in Round 1 including Darwin Film Society, Berry Springs Mango Festival, Incite Arts and Muyali Mulil.

“The Territory hosts some of Australia’s best festivals and events including theatre, cabaret, art, dance, live music, high calibre sporting events and cultural experiences,” Ms Moss said.

“Our festivals and events are quirky and unique and help build the NT’s reputation as a fun and adventurous holiday destination rich in art and culture. This funding will support a wide range of festivals and events, deliver economic and social benefits and create jobs.”

Under the program, event grants (from $2,000 to $150,000) are available to help create new, or develop existing events to better engage the local community, attract visitors and showcase the NT.

The second round of FestivalsNT event funding closes on Tuesday, 12 December 2017.

Applicants are encouraged to contact FestivalsNT at festivals.nt@nt.gov.au to discuss their application prior to submission.
