The Victorian Government is developing a new plan to grow creative jobs, events and activities in regional Victoria – and local communities will help shape it.
Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley called on regionally-based artists, creative practitioners, businesses and community members to share their views on how to strengthen creative industries in regional and rural areas.
The new regional plan follows the release of the Government’s Creative State strategy and will focus on specific opportunities and challenges facing creative industries in regional areas, and set a path for new programs and initiatives.
An online consultation process has been launched through the Creative Victoria website.
People are encouraged to provide feedback on the benefits of the creative sector, challenges faced by artists and practitioners and their aspirations for the future.
The creative and cultural sectors generate more than $23 billion for the Victorian economy each year.
