Robbery, Thuringowa

Police are investigating after a man was robbed in Townsville.

A 61-year-old man was sitting in his parked van in a carpark on Hervey Range Road when he was approached by three men.

One man threatened him with a knife demanding his vehicle. The man complied and got out of his van. One of the men then attempted to drive the van but crashed into a bollard and the men fled on foot with the man’s phone and keys.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Two of the men are described as Caucasian and in their late teens and the other man is described as Aboriginal in appearance, also aged in his late teens.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed suspicious activity or anyone with information that may assist investigations to contact Policelink on 131 444 or to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
