Police appeal for witnesses following assault

Police are investigating following the assault of a man.

About 12.30am (Thursday 15 February 2018), police were called to West High Street, Coffs Harbour after reports a man was unconscious outside a licensed premise.

Police were told by witnesses that the man had been punched by another man before he fled the area.

The man was taken to Coffs Harbours Health Campus with injuries to his head. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced investigations into the incident.
