A man has been arrested after he drove a car into a home at Newcastle.
About 11pm Sunday (11 March 2018) emergency services were called to the intersection of Russell Road and Royal Place in New Lambton, following reports a car had crashed into the bedroom of a house.
The occupant of the home, a 73-year-old woman, suffered a minor injury.
The 27-year-old male driver of the vehicle, a Holden Commodore station wagon, was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative reading.
The driver was arrested after inquiries revealed he was disqualified from driving until 2030.
He was charged with drive whilst disqualified and negligent driving and refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Monday 12 March 2018).
Officers from Newcastle Police District continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Any witnesses are urged to come forward.
