More than $1 million in improvement works will be completed on the Echuca to Deniliquin freight line.
Around 30 V/Line staff and contractors will upgrade tracks and bridges along the freight line.
The works will kick off and be completed on the morning of Wednesday 11 March 2018.
The package of works will include replacing the bridge deck in Moama and maintenance work on other bridges along the line.
Crews will also add ballast and complete track welding and repairs to sections of the track.
Some freight services will not be able to run while these important works are being completed, but V/Line has planned the works to minimise the disruption to freight trains and communicated with freight operators in advance to ensure they could plan ahead.
At the same time, works are continuing on the $440 million Murray Basin Rail Project in the state’s north west.
Freight trains returned to the Mildura line and the next stage of the Murray Basin Rail Project will upgrade the Sea Lake and Manangatang lines.
