Burglary with violence, Hervey Bay

Detectives are investigating a violent burglary at a Hervey Bay residence.

Police received reports of a disturbance at a Boat Harbour Drive address involving a man and woman attempting to force their way into the property.

On arrival, officers located the occupants, a man and woman, with minor head injuries sustained when the attackers used a metal pole to assault them.

The pair were taken to hospital with minor non-life threatening injuries.

A crime scene was declared as detectives and forensic officers commenced an investigation.

It is understood the occupants and attackers were known to each other.

Investigations are continuing.
