Criminals pay to fund vital community legal services across WA

Attorney General John Quigley will move to shore up the future of community legal centres (CLC) while working with the centres to develop a sustainable funding model for the future.

The WA Government has approved a $2 million funding rescue package to ensure CLCs continue to provide important legal services across Western Australia.

$1.35 million of this funding will be used to ensure no CLC receives less funding than previously.

The remainder will be allocated following discussions between the Department of Justice, the Community Legal Centres Association (WA) and Legal Aid on the best way to deliver CLC services in the future.
