The inaugural Flinders Island Food & Crayfish Festival is set to take place on the weekend of the 14th of April, 2018.
A star lineup featuring some of Australia’s greatest chefs, the festival will centre around a special long lunch that will celebrate the island’s beautiful produce.
The team will spend five days exploring, diving and foraging ahead of the lunch to bring together an experience that is truly unique.
Flinders Island is luring chefs David Moyle (LongSong), Mark Labrooy (Three Blue Ducks), James Viles (Biota), Matt Stone (Oakridge), Jo Barrett (Oakridge) and sommelier Alice Chugg (Ettie’s) for a very special long-lunch, the highlight of the Flinders Island Food & Crayfish Festival on 14 – 15 April.
The chef dream team will spend five days exploring the island – diving, foraging and sourcing – ahead of the lunch, which is open to only 100 ‘off-islanders’.
The location will be released 48 hours before the ‘barefoot cocktail’ event – the weather being the driver of where lunch will be served.
Across the weekend, visitors can also enjoy the Loaves and Fishes lunch or cooking classes with Wendy Jubb Stoney on her property, Cooma House, sample crayfish pies at Pepperberry Cove or Pick and Party at Unavale Vineyard. Book ahead.
