Serving Australian Defence Force members and veterans are being invited to consider being part of the Ministerial Veterans Advisory Council.
Acting Veterans Issues Minister Bill Johnston said the council was seeking members who could bring a broad range of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the veterans’ community.
The Ministerial Veterans Advisory Council investigates matters referred to it by the Minister for Veterans Issues, and provides advice to the State Government on matters relating to veterans, including issues regarding the transition to civilian life.
Applicants for the Ministerial Veterans Advisory Council need to be either a current serving member of the Australian Defence Force or a veteran.
Membership of the Council is for a two-year term, with a possible one-year extension.
The Council convenes quarterly.
Council members are expected to act in a personal capacity drawing on their relevant knowledge, experience and skills, and not as a representative of a particular association.
Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday, 25 July 2018.
