Celebrating the Bush: 2019 Rural Women’s Award

Applications for the 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award open. The Territory Government has highlighted agribusiness as a priority growth sector to create jobs, and supporting the awards helps the government support future leaders of the sector.

The awards celebrate the achievements of women from the Territory’s rural communities and industries.

2018’s NT winner was Linda Blackwood from Katherine. She was recognised for her work developing an app to hold important insurance records and station-site access documents, which will mean less paperwork for both station workers and their employers.

Ms Blackwood is now a finalist for the 2018 national award, and will represent the NT at the 2018 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Gala Dinner & National Announcement at Parliament House in Canberra on 15 October 2018. Northern Territory applicants have until 27 January 2019 to apply for the 2019 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.
