Fire ban advice message

The Chief Fire Control Officer, Bushfires NT and the Acting Executive Director, NT Fire and Rescue Service have declared a 24 HOUR FIRE BAN PERIOD for Friday 21 September 2018 for the following areas.

NORTHERN FIRE PROTECTION ZONE and the DARWIN and ADELAIDE RIVER FIRE WEATHER FORECAST AREA.

This includes the DARWIN, BATCHELOR and ADELAIDE RIVER and PINE CREEK EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREAS and the LITCHFIELD MUNICIPALITY and COOMALIE SHIRE as well as the CARPENTARIA EAST, CARPENTARIA WEST and ARNHEM WEST FIRE WEATHER FORECAST AREAS including the BORROLOOLA and JABIRU EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREAS.

The Fire Ban is declared for a 24 hour period commencing at 0000 hours on Friday 21 September 2018.

No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory within the fire ban areas.

The Fire Ban is valid from midnight to midnight.
